About me

I
am a Chartered Counselling
Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS)
and Health Professions Council (HPC). I completed my undergraduate
psychology
degree with the Open University and my postgraduate training in
counselling psychology at City University, London. I have
completed a
post graduate diploma in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and am an
accredited cognitive behavioural psychotherapist with the BABCP. .
I have had
experience in working in both primary and secondary care within the
NHS, in both GP surgeries and within community mental health teams. I
have also worked at a hospice and have had several years of experience
working with women offenders who are at risk of self-harm and suicide.
I am currently working within the NHS in a primary care
psychology service where I see people referred by
their GP for depression and various anxiety disorders such as panic,
OCD, social anxiety, health anxiety and phobias.
I
originally trained and worked as both a nurse and midwife and have
extensive experience of working in the NHS and in medical
research.
